New Beginnings: London Charm and the 7C Alliance

Back in 2007, following a social networking event organised by the 7C Alliance at The Prince Albert – a bar in London’s Notting Hill, a few of the people stayed on at the pub afterwards and met some people who were wanting to have a good night out together where they could discover the tucked away and hard to find corners in London for good live music – but did not know where to start. From that chat, the idea for a new online networking group to discover that, London Charm, was born.

Members of the 7C Alliance firstly set up a simple web-site (created by Steve Foster) and, later, a Facebook Group was created with help of Patrick Whelan and several others

Now, with 7C Alliance being a UK-wide online networking group and London Charm having had people from across London interested to meet up together to see great unsigned acts, we thought it was time to try and bring those groups together again to see one of the acts discovered through London Charm at the home of London Charm, The Tabernacle.

However where do these two groups want to go from here? We have reserved the Conservatory at The Tabernacle on Thursday, 11th November for us to come together and discover what each other has to offer – and celebrate new beginnings with music from “New Day“, the new album by Milli Moonstone, one of the acts discovered by members of the London Charm social network.

We look forward to seeing you there! Tickets are £15/head and include price of canapes and performer. They can be bought online at http://www.wegottickets.com/event/97497

Please note that numbers of tickets are strictly limited to 50 – and so please get in quick to not miss out!

Little Grand Majestic Underbelly

I am getting behind on writing up the gigs with the new bands and venues as my other life is too busy – but thought it best to mention that The Grand Majestic (TGM) did a great gig at Underbelly – despite the stage not allowing the full line-up and a way to see the [...]

A Good Dark Night Out At The Gaff

f The Crobar , one of London’s smallest but toughest venues – dedicated to beer, whiskey and hard rock – was able to grow up and become a bar big enough to have live bands, then The Gaff MIGHT well be what it would be like.
It certainly WAS dark, as the photo shows – but [...]

Lowdown on The Standards at Barfly

The Standards’ standard at Barfly on Saturday, February 6th, was beatworthy and tuneful with a really Brit-cool lead singer called Neil who knows how to perform as much as sing.
“Out with the Fire” is a great number, however the overzealousness of the Barfly’s dry ice maker nearly blanketing the whole stage in dry ice [...]

A Few Good Gigs to Start 2010

Here’s a few good gigs that London Charm consider sounds good for starting off with in 2010, as (largely) suggested by some of the members of the Secret London Group on Facebook:
Saturday, Feb 6th, The Standards,
Indie / Acoustic /Rock – with just a touch of The Smiths perhaps -playing @ Camden Barfly, 20:00, with Hoodlums
49 [...]

About London Charm Blog

This is the place where members of London Charm can have their say in telling the world about the places that we like go out to around London and who we like to see there.

Charming London…

One night, in a pub somewhere in West London, a few people gathered together by chance when a girl mentioned to her friends that she wanted to see more live music around London – but did not know where to start.
The gathering began when someone next to her - who she had never met before but who had [...]
